Did you know that if you apply for the position of First Officer in International Airlines, several of them require a PTL license as part of their requirements, even without Operational Experience? That’s why at GTA Colombia, we have designed the Upgrade course for you, who have at least 1,000 hours on the A320, so you can obtain your PTL license without Operational Experience.

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • 70 hours as PIC in aeroplanes
  • Valid ATPL or Valid CPL with ATPL frozen (Valid ICAO license for non-EASA license holders);
  • Multi Engine, Instrument rating;
  • MPA experience or completed MCC course*
  • Jet experience or completed Jet Orientation Course (JOC)*
  • Certificate for Advanced UPRT course - in case of first type rating
  • Medical Examination Class 1
  • English Level 4 or more according to ICAO requirements

  • COURSE OUTLINE

  • 1. Computer Based Training (CBT) - self-study at home: 10 days (60 hours)
  • 2. Ground School (GS) – at SFT facilities, Sofia (Bulgaria): 7 days (40 hours), Including:
    • Normal and emergency operation
    • Performance, Weight and Balance training
    • FMGC training
    • ECAM training
    • PBN training /type related/
    • UPRT training /type related/
    • Theoretical examination
  • 3. Flight Training Device phase (FTD) – 36 hours*
  • 4. Full Flight Simulator training (FFS) – 32 hours**
  • 5. License Skill Test (LST) - 4 hours
  • 6. Zero Flight Time Training (ZFTT) – 4 hours***

  • Notes:
  • * FTD training can be reduced to 16 hours in case of experienced pilots
  • ** additional training required for candidates with:
  • • no MCC certificate or MPA experience (12 hours GS and 12 hours FBS)
  • • no Jet experience (6 hours GS and 4 hours FFS)
  • *** only for ZFTT-eligible airline employees
  • ****- 2 hours GS and 4 hours FFS per crew
